LQS #7 Developing Leadership Capacity "A leader provides opportunities for members of the school community to develop leadership capacity and to support others in fulfilling their educational roles" (Alberta Education, 2015,p.7).
Success:
Working with EA on leading learning and building leadership within this capacity
Working with the Numeracy Lead and District Lead to bring in some different math practices and a residency
Working with the LLI teacher, classroom teachers and EA to enhance Literacy practices with new programs.
Working and learning alongside the Principal on what it takes to build a strong School Council leadership team.
Challenges:
Covid has limited the opprotunites to work with students and create leadership activities
Having teachers feel more valued on the District Numeracy and Literaacy Teams
Teachers feeling tired and burnt out, so asking them to do more is tough at this time.
Covid has limited the interactions and activities with parent council. They could not do as much with our kiddos as they have in the past.
New parent council and it is small and inexperienced so working alongside them in the upcoming months to have them become a strong cohesive team.
